Cellphone compatibility

Flightcell Pro connects to your cellphone (using the supplied cable) via the 2.5mm personal handsfree socket on your phone, OR with a 2.5mm adaptor attached to the bottom of your phone.

Flightcell Pro is compatible with MOST cellphones, either via a direct plug-in OR using an adaptor. You can download a pdf file listing all older compatible cell phones and the adaptors required by clicking here .

The market for cell phone has had a significant shift in the last 3 years and newer slim phones with mini USB, Micro USB and some Stereo headset interfaces may not have a suitable adaptor. In many cases there are not adaptors available on the market as the phones require additional electronic componentry in the headset line for matching outputs and detecting activity. Flightcell is not able to support these phones. In some instances Flightcell can often make an adaptor by using the mono hands free headset supplied with your phone - this requires that the headset is destroyed and will incur a labour charge.

If you are looking for a phone that is directly compatible with the Flightcell Pro then please consider the following:

Direct Plug in:
Palm Treo
Some Blackberrys
Most CDMA Nokia phones
Older Motorola flip phones
Sharp Flip phones

Phones with adaptors available from Flightcell:
Nokia with a "pop port" connector off the base (13 brass connections)
Sony Ericsson with "fast port" connector off the base
Most older Nokia Phones
Motorola V3, RAZR, V6, SLVR

If your phone is not on this lists and does not have a mini USB or Micro USB connection, it will most likely still be compatible. Please contact us if your phone is not listed or if you have any queries regarding the suitability of your phone.
